    Transparent Leadership: ENGAGEMENTS OF THE CHAIRMAN, ZARIA LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL

    The Executive Chairman of Zaria Local Government Council, Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad Jaga, presided over the 17th Executive Council Meeting of Zaria Local Government, where key issues relating to sustainable development and effective administration were deliberated upon

    A statement signed by Galadima Ishaq Chief press secretary office of the chairman said the meeting provided an opportunity to review the progress of ongoing projects, strengthen inter-departmental coordination, and consider strategic initiatives aimed at accelerating development, improving service delivery, and enhancing the welfare and well-being of the people of Zaria.

    The statement said following the Executive Council Meeting, the Chairman presided over the Monthly Security Meeting, during which the security situation across the Local Government was reviewed.

    The meeting also considered measures to further strengthen collaboration and coordination among relevant security stakeholders towards ensuring the safety and security of communities across Zaria.

    The Chairman subsequently chaired the Zaria Local Government Town Hall Meeting and Citizens’ Engagement on the 2027 Budget Presentation, held at the Local Government Council Chamber.

    The engagement provided an important platform for citizens to present their priorities, express their concerns, and contribute directly to the budgetary process.

    The citizens’ engagement further underscored the administration’s commitment to inclusive, transparent, accountable and people-centred governance, ensuring that the views, priorities and needs of residents remain integral to the Local Government’s development planning and decision-making processes.

    Later in the evening, the Chairman continued his engagements through visits and meetings with various groups and individuals. These interactions provided opportunities to listen directly to the people, understand their concerns and aspirations, and explore practical ways through which the Local Government can continue to respond effectively to their needs.

    The day’s engagements reflected the administration’s commitment to purposeful leadership, effective coordination, meaningful citizen participation and responsive service delivery. The administration remains focused on ensuring that governance extends beyond the office through continuous consultation, planning, engagement and the implementation of programmes and initiatives that positively impact the lives of the people.

    Under the leadership of Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad Jaga, the Zaria Local Government Council remains committed to building a responsive, inclusive and development-oriented administration that works for the benefit of all residents.
