The Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Education (FUE), Zaria, Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to students’ welfare.
A statement signed by Sani Lawal Maqarphy media aide to the VC said Prof. Bunkure made the remark during an inspection of the newly installed solar power systems at the Students’ Common Room and the University’s Water Plant.
He explained that the initiative is aimed at improving operational efficiency and ensuring a reliable power supply to key facilities on campus.
During the inspection, the Vice-Chancellor was taken on a tour of the installations, where he examined the various components of the solar systems and received briefings on their operation.
He said the projects would provide uninterrupted electricity to the Students’ Common Room and the University’s Water Treatment Plant, helping to address water supply challenges, enhance students’ welfare, and improve service delivery across the University.
After inspecting the newly installed solar power system at the Students’ Common Room, Prof. Bunkure went inside the facility to assess its condition, noting that it requires renovation to provide students with a safer, more conducive, and comfortable recreational environment.
The Vice-Chancellor was accompanied by the Director of Maintenance, Engr. Tunde Ariyo; the Dean of Students’ Affairs, Mal. Abdullahi Ibrahim; the Personal Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor, Mal. Abubakar Sani Adda’u; the Chief of Staff to the Vice-Chancellor, Mal. Ibrahim Sani Wamba.
Also present were the Students’ Affairs Officer, Barr. Maryam Halidu; the Director of Security Services, Mal. Halilu Hassan; the Chief Security Officer, SP Bello Haruna (Rtd.); the SSANU Secretary, Comr. Ibrahim Danlami Kubau; and the SRC President, Comr. Khalipha Ibrahim.
