The Governor of Kano State, His Excellency, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has appointed the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University of Education, Zaria, Prof Yahaya Isa Bunkure (Makaman Rano), as a member of a committee constituted by the Kano State Government to oversee the seamless take-off of the newly established Federal Polytechnic, Rano.
A statement signed by Sani Lawal Maqarphy Media aide to the VC said the committee was inaugurated on Thursday, 10th September 2026, by the Secretary to the Kano State Government, Alhaji Umar Farouk Ibrahim, on behalf of the Governor.
The 13-member committee is chaired by Prof Shehu Aliyu Rano and has been given three weeks to ensure the seamless take-off of the new Federal Polytechnic, Rano.
Prof Bunkure has expressed appreciation to the Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for giving him the opportunity to serve on the committee, describing the appointment as an honour and an important responsibility.
He described the assignment as an epoch-making, not only for the people of Rano, but also for Kano State, the North-West and Nigeria at large.
Prof Bunkure further expressed his commitment to contributing to the successful completion of the committee’s assignment within the stipulated three weeks period.
