The Yobe State University, Damaturu, has approved the promotion of 28 academic staff of the institution to associate professors (readers) and professors, following the outcome of its 47th Governing Council meeting held on Thursday, April 16.
The Council, chaired by Ahmed Mustapha Goniri Esq, ratified the elevation of the qualified scholars across various disciplines in line with the institution’s commitment to academic excellence.
According to a statement issued by the Registrar, Alhaji Isa Audu Dallari, eight of the academics promoted were professors, while 20 were readers.
Dallari said the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Muhammad Bashir Tahir, congratulated all the promoted staff on their well-deserved achievements.
He commended their dedication to teaching, research, and other services, noting that the promotions reflected their significant contributions to the growth of the institution.
Tahir encouraged them to sustain the momentum by advancing scholarship, mentoring younger academics and upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
