The First Lady of Zamfara State, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal, has urged intending pilgrims from the state to serve as worthy ambassadors of Zamfara and Nigeria as they depart for the 2026 Hajj in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In a statement issued by her Press Secretary, Rabi Yusuf, the First Lady made the call while bidding farewell to the pilgrims at the Gusau International Airport.
She charged the pilgrims to uphold the values of patience, discipline, unity, and exemplary conduct throughout their stay in the Holy Land.
Hajiya Huriyya further encouraged them to use the sacred period to pray fervently for peace, stability, and sustained development in Zamfara State.
Demonstrating her commitment to the welfare of female pilgrims, the First Lady distributed hijabs to women participating in this year’s Hajj exercise to ensuring they are adequately supported for the spiritual journey.
Prior to the send-off, she held a strategic meeting with the Chairman of the Zamfara State Hajj Commission, Alhaji Musa Mallaha, alongside members of the Commission’s female volunteer group.
The meeting focused on streamlining logistics to ensure maximum comfort and proper coordination for pilgrims, with particular emphasis on the needs of women. Key discussions centered on transportation, welfare support, and critical operational guidelines necessary for a seamless and hitch-free exercise.
The First Lady commended the preparedness and dedication of the Hajj Commission and its female volunteer group, assuring them of her continued support toward a successful Hajj operation.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Zamfara State Hajj Commission, Alhaji Musa Mallaha, expressed appreciation to the First Lady for her sustained support and commitment to the welfare of pilgrims, noting that her timely interventions would significantly enhance the success of this year’s Hajj operations.
