The Zamfara State Government has commended the Nigerian Armed Forces for the successful military operation that reportedly led to the elimination of more than 300 terrorists in and around Gummi Local Government Area of the state.

In a statement signed by the state commissioner of information and culture, Mahmud Mohamed Dantawasa, the Government described the operation as a significant breakthrough in the ongoing fight against banditry and other violent crimes that have threatened the peace, security, and socio-economic development of Zamfara State and the North-West region.

Governor Dauda Lawal noted that the gallantry, professionalism, and sacrifices demonstrated by the Nigerian military and other security agencies continue to inspire hope among the people of the state. He reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to supporting security agencies through logistics, intelligence sharing, and all lawful means necessary to restore lasting peace across Zamfara.

The Governor emphasized that the success recorded in Gummi is a clear indication that with sustained collaboration, determination, and coordinated security operations, criminal elements can be decisively confronted and defeated.

Governor Lawal also urged residents to continue cooperating with security agencies by providing credible and timely information that will assist in identifying criminal hideouts and preventing future attacks. He assured citizens that his administration will remain steadfast in its commitment to protecting lives and property under the Rescue Mission agenda.

While congratulating the Armed Forces on the successful operation, the Zamfara State Government encouraged them to sustain the momentum until every part of the state is free from the activities of terrorists and bandits.
