The Acting Governor of Zamfara State, Mani Malam Mummuni Masamar Mudi (Matawallen Bukkuyum), accompanied by a government delegation, paid a condolence visit to Goran Namaye in Maradun Local Government Area following a terrorist attack that claimed the lives of 21 people and left 17 others injured.
A statement signed by Shehu Adamu Gusau,CPS to the Deputy Governor said during the visit, the Acting Governor conveyed the condolences of the Zamfara State Government to the families of those who lost their lives and to the entire community. He expressed the government’s deep sorrow over the tragic incident and prayed that Almighty Allah forgives the deceased and grants their families the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
As part of efforts to support the affected families, the state government donated the sum of ₦500,000 and two bags of grains to each family of the deceased, while each injured victim received ₦200,000 and one bag of grain to help alleviate their hardship.
Mani Malam Mummuni Masamar Mudi assured the community that the state government would continue to take all necessary measures to strengthen security and protect lives and property across the state.
In his remarks, the Zamfara State Commissioner of Police urged members of the community to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities or planned attacks to security agencies to enable swift action and response.
In a vote of thanks, the District Head of Goran Namaye, Alhaji Muhammadu Musa, expressed gratitude to the state government for the condolence visit and the assistance provided. He also appealed for sustained efforts to address the security challenges affecting rural communities in the state.
