    Zaria Celebrates Democracy Day with Major Educational Empowerment and Humanitarian Interventions

    In Kaduna State,the Chairman of Zaria Local Government Council Engr Jamil Ahmad Muhammad Jaga, has expresses profound gratitude to Almighty Allah as Zaria joins the rest of the nation in commemorating another memorable Democracy Day, marked by impactful empowerment initiatives and humanitarian interventions that continue to uplift the lives of citizens across the Local Government Area.

    A statement signed by the chief press secretary office of the chairman, Galadima Ishaq said the Chairman had the honour of accompanying the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen , PhD, GCON, at the flag-off of Phase V of the Empowerment Programme, where 1,000 motorcycles were distributed to primary and secondary school teachers across Zaria Federal Constituency.

    It said the event also featured a significant humanitarian gesture at the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Zaria, where outstanding fines and compensation fees amounting to ₦17.5 million were settled, leading to the release of 21 inmates and granting them renewed opportunities for reintegration into society.

    In his remarks, the Chairman emphasized the importance of education as a catalyst for societal growth, stating that “a well-supported teacher is the foundation of a strong and progressive educational system.”

    He further noted that strengthening teacher welfare through improved mobility will enhance punctuality, productivity, and overall service delivery across schools in the constituency.

    The Chairman also commended the Speaker’s sustained commitment to educational advancement through the establishment of key institutions and development centres across Zaria, including the Federal College of Education, National Open University Study Centre, College of Nursing and Health Sciences, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry College, College of Agriculture, Sports Academy, Centre for Management Development, Vocational and Technical Training College, Technology Incubation Centre, Women Development Centre, as well as specialized schools for children with disabilities and orphaned children.

    He described the Speaker’s efforts as visionary and transformative, noting that such interventions will continue to shape the future of education and human capital development in the region.

    The Council Chairman also expressed deep appreciation to the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his leadership and the enabling national environment that supports such developmental strides.

    Similarly, commendation was extended to the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani CON, for his collaboration with stakeholders, continuous reforms in education, and commitment to teacher welfare and state development.

    Reaffirming the spirit of Democracy Day, the Chairman called for unity and collective responsibility, stating that “our strength as a people lies in our unity, shared purpose, and commitment to building a prosperous Zaria, Kaduna State, and Nigeria at large.”
