The Acting Executive Chairman of the Adamawa State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Commission, Malam Abubakar Salihu, represented by the Director of Planning, Maryam Boda Abubakar, inaugurated members of the Yola Camp Committee on Tuesday.
A statement signed by the board information officer,Habiba Mohamed Hassan said the committee is tasked with providing transit accommodation for intending pilgrims before their departure to Saudi Arabia.
The committee, chaired by Alhaji Gambo Jikka, is responsible for managing all logistical arrangements at the camp, ensuring a comfortable and secure environment for pilgrims. Maryam Boda Abubakar stressed the importance of proper planning and teamwork to guarantee a smooth and hitch-free pilgrimage experience for all intending pilgrims.
The newly inaugurated committee held an immediate meeting with local traders operating within the facility, where key issues such as security, health, and safety were discussed. Alhaji Gambo Jikka highlighted the need for cooperation between the committee and traders to create a safe and welcoming environment, while assuring that all necessary services and preparations will be in place before pilgrims depart for the holy sites in Saudi Arabia.
