    30-yr old Suspect in police net over alleged murder of father in Adamawa,

    A 30-year-old suspect, Peter Sinamai of Sangere quarters in Gombi local government area of Adamawa State has been arrested by the police for allegedly killing his biological father.

    Parading the suspect in Yola on Friday the police public relations officer,(PPRO) SP Suleiman Ngurore said that, Peter Sinamai allegedly killed his father and dumped the corpse in a well with the motive to block any trace of suspicion.

    Ngurore the police operatives in the area swung in to action immediately after the receipt of the complaint by a good Samaritan in the community which to the apprehension of the suspect assuring that the suspect will be charged to court after thorough interrogation.

    Ngurore disclosed further that the com missioner of police in the state,CP Kabir Umar Hassan has ordered a probe in to the matter urging the public to desist from taking laws in to their hands rather apply lawful means of resolving any family dispute.

    “The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested one Peter Sinamai, 30 years, a resident of Sangere Gombi LGA in connection with the alleged killing of his biological father and the dumping of the corpse in a well.

    “The suspect was arrested following a report received by operatives of the Command. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect allegedly killed his father and disposed of the body in a well within their community.

    “Commissioner of Police, CP Kabiru Umar Hassan,has ordered a discreet and thorough investigation into the matter to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

    “The corpse has been recovered and deposited at the mortuary for autopsy while the suspect will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation.

    “CP Kabir also condemns the act in the strongest terms and reassures the public of the Command’s commitment to ensuring justice is served.

    “He further urges members of the public to always seek lawful and peaceful means of resolving family disputes and to seek appropriate intervention whenever conflicts arise”. Ngurore assured.
