    OPERATION HADIN KAI, IMMIGRATION SERVICE STRENGTHEN BORDER SECURITY COORDINATION IN YOBE

    The Commander, Headquarters Sector 2, Joint Task Force North East, Operation HADIN KAI, Brigadier General Edet Effiong, on Wednesday, 26 August 2026, received the newly posted Comptroller, Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Yobe State Command, Comptroller IZ Abubakar, pcc, during a courtesy visit to the Sector Headquarters in Damaturu, Yobe State.

    This is contained in a statement signed by Lieutenant Absolom Kandala Acting Assistant Director Army Public RelationsHeadquarters Sector 2, Joint Task Force (North East) Operation HADIN KAIDamaturu issued to newsmen.

    It said the engagement provided an opportunity to reinforce the strategic partnership between Operation HADIN KAI and the Immigration Service, particularly in strengthening border security, migration management and coordinated responses to emerging threats across Yobe State. Brigadier General Effiong underscored the importance of sustained inter-agency cooperation in maintaining security along the nation’s borders and protecting border communities.

    The Sector Commander highlighted the need for effective information sharing, coordinated border surveillance and closer engagement with border communities to disrupt activities linked to terrorism, human trafficking, smuggling and irregular migration. He stressed that a well-coordinated security architecture remains essential to preventing threats from exploiting gaps across the border environment.

    Brigadier General Effiong further reaffirmed the readiness of Operation HADIN KAI to support stronger collaboration with the Immigration Service and other security stakeholders. He noted that enhanced coordination, professionalism and appropriate use of technology would contribute significantly to improving border monitoring, strengthening operational effectiveness and advancing the broader national security objective.

    In his remarks, Comptroller Abubakar commended the Nigerian Army for its continued support and cooperation with the Immigration Service. He pledged to deepen the existing synergy, enhance personnel capacity and operational readiness, and strengthen border surveillance and migration control in furtherance of shared security objectives.

    The engagement concluded with the signing of the visitors’ book, presentation of souvenirs and a group photograph. The visit reaffirmed the commitment of both organisations to closer coordination and collective action in securing Nigeria’s borders, protecting communities and sustaining peace and stability across the Northeast.
