The Director of the Directorate of Inspection and Compliance (DI&C) for the Nigerian Army, Major General Francis Omata, has paid a courtesy visit to the Headquarters 1 Division Nigerian Army in Kaduna.

A statement signed by Lieutenant Colonel Ajemasu Yake Jingina Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations 1 Division Nigerian Army/Sector 1 Operation FANSAN YAMMA said this visit forms part of the Directorate’s ongoing tour to evaluate Nigerian Army infrastructural projects, assess procurement activities, and identify any abandoned projects within the Division’s Area of Responsibility (AOR).

The official inspection directly aligns with the Command Philosophy of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu NAM. It underscores the Nigerian Army’s rigorous commitment to transparency, robust institutional accountability, effective resource management, and improved infrastructural development across all its formations and units nationwide.

Speaking during the briefing, Major General Omata disclosed that the DI&C is saddled with the vital responsibility of inspecting ongoing infrastructural developments and procurement processes. He noted that pinpointing stalled projects allows the team to provide the COAS with comprehensive, data-driven reports regarding project status, milestones, and implementation challenges.

He further explained that the inspection exercise is designed to furnish the COAS with accurate information on the state of Army infrastructure. This proactive approach identifies areas requiring urgent intervention, ensuring that financial resources committed to these projects translate into tangible, high-quality benefits for personnel and the institution.

In his response, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Sector 1 Joint Task Force Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Major General Abubakar Sadique Muhammed Wase, welcomed the delegation. He commended the Directorate’s diligent efforts toward maintaining strict adherence to established execution standards and enforcing institutional compliance.

Briefing the visitors on the security situation within the Division’s AOR, Major General Wase stated that the environment remains relatively calm. He attributed this stability to sustained operational engagements and collaborative efforts among relevant security stakeholders, utilizing a calculated blend of kinetic and non-kinetic approaches through the FGN and respective State Governments.

Ultimately, the visit reinforces the Nigerian Army’s resolve to strengthen institutional accountability, maximize project delivery, and sustain welfare-oriented development while maintaining absolute operational effectiveness.
