The Executive Chairman of Fufore Local Government Council, Hon. Dr. Yahaya Sa’idu, has reportedly passed away.
According to statement from information officer of the council, Ahmed B. Yusha’u made available to the media in Yola on Saturday that, the deceased (Dr.Sa’idu) died at a hospital in Kaduna at about 1:00 a.m. yesterday.
Yusha’u noted that further details about his burial would be communicated to the public in due course.
His death has thrown the entire council and the state into mourning which comes exactly eighteen (18) months after the demise of his predecessor, Hon. Shaibu Basbas while in office also.

With the sudden unfortunate incident of the death, now attention is expected to move to the process of selecting a successor.
However, condolences have already started pouring to the immediate family, Associates and the local government area authority from different sympathizers including former Speaker Adamawa state Assembly and Senator representing Adamawa Central Senatorial zone,Hon Aminu Iya Abbas expressing shock over his sudden death.
In a personal message shared on his WhatsApp handle on Saturday, October 10, 2026, Senator Abbas described the late Dr. Yahaya Saidu as a dedicated and industrious leader whose service to the people of Fufore Local Government Area and Adamawa State will be deeply missed.
He also prayed that Allah grants the bereaved family and the entire community the fortitude and patience to bear this irreparable loss.
“Dr. Yahaya Saidu was a committed leader who gave his best in service to his people. My heart goes out to his family, friends, associates, and the good people of Fufore Local Government Area during this very difficult time,”Senator Abbas stated.
Senior Special Assistant on security to the Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Hon Ahmad lawan also expressed deep grief over the demise of the council chairmen condoling his family, relatives and the good people of Fufore local government area
