Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has visited Adamawa State students sponsored by the state government under its overseas scholarship programme at Istinye University, Istanbul, Turkey, to assess their welfare and academic progress.

The students, numbering about 200, are pursuing various master’s degree programmes under the scholarship initiative, which forms part of the administration’s commitment to human capital development and capacity building.

During the visit, the management of the university informed the governor that the Adamawa students have distinguished themselves academically, recording excellent performances across their various fields of study.

University officials noted that many of the students are earning outstanding grades and have continued to demonstrate dedication and commitment to their academic pursuits.

The management commended the Adamawa State Government for the initiative, describing the scholarship programme as a worthwhile investment that is already yielding positive results.

According to the university authorities, the students have proven that the government’s investment in their education is not in vain, as they continue to excel and uphold the reputation of the state and Nigeria.

Speaking during the visit, Governor Fintiri expressed satisfaction with the students’ performance and praised them for justifying the confidence reposed in them by the government.

He explained that the beneficiaries were selected strictly on merit, stressing that the scholarship programme is a deliberate strategy by his administration to develop skilled manpower, empower young people, and build a stronger professional workforce for Adamawa State.

Governor Fintiri announced that arrangements have also been concluded to sponsor another set of 200 students to study various master’s degree courses in Australia and Canada under the same scholarship scheme.

The governor described education as one of the most effective tools for sustainable development, noting that the overseas scholarship scheme is designed to equip beneficiaries with global knowledge and expertise that will contribute to the state’s growth and development.

Governor Fintiri urged the students to remain focused on their studies, maintain high academic standards, and continue to be worthy ambassadors of Adamawa State and Nigeria.

The overseas scholarship programme is one of the flagship educational initiatives of the Fintiri administration, aimed at producing highly skilled professionals capable of driving innovation, economic growth, and sustainable development in Adamawa State.
