Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has been honoured with the Agricultural Transformation and Security Improvement Award at the 2026 BusinessDay States Competitiveness and Investment Readiness Awards (SCIRA).

A statement signed by the chief press secretary to the Governor, Ibrahim kaula Mohammad said the award was presented in Abuja at the NAF Conference Centre, organised by BusinessDay Media Limited. The platform recognises states that demonstrate excellence in governance, economic reforms, infrastructure, security, investment promotion, and service delivery.

The statement said Governor Radda was recognised for transformative interventions in agriculture, farmer empowerment, food security, and community-based security initiatives. And also commended for linking economic reforms with security strategies to create a stable environment for growth and investment.

Receiving the award on behalf of the Governor, Deputy Governor Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe expressed appreciation to BusinessDay Media Limited, describing the honour as a reflection of the collective efforts of the government and people of Katsina State.

“This recognition affirms our commitment to building a secure, prosperous, and economically vibrant Katsina State. It reflects the progress we are making in transforming agriculture, strengthening security, and expanding opportunities for our people,” he said.

He added that the administration remains committed to policies and programmes aimed at accelerating economic growth, enhancing food security, attracting investment, and improving living standards across the state.

“I dedicate this award to the resilient people of Katsina State, whose support continues to inspire our drive for inclusive development. It strengthens our resolve,” Governor Radda stated.

Earlier, the Publisher and CEO of BusinessDay Media Limited, Frank Aigbogun, said the awards celebrate governors driving economic growth, job creation, poverty reduction, improved security, and investment readiness across Nigeria.

He added that the initiative promotes healthy competition among states while encouraging transparency, accountability, and measurable development outcomes.

The BusinessDay SCIRA remains one of Nigeria’s leading platforms for recognising excellence in governance and sustainable economic competitiveness.

Other governors recognised at the ceremony included Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State, who received the Infrastructure Development and Urban Renewal Award; Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State, honoured for Agricultural Transformation and Rural Development; and Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, recognised for Governance, Economic Reforms and Human Capital Development.
