The Executive Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a competent, innovative, and result-oriented public service that will drive sustainable development in the state.

A statement signed by Ibrahim kaula Mohammad, chief press secretary to the Governor, said this follows the successful participation of a high-level delegation of senior government officials in a specialised training programme on Participatory Leadership at the Institute of Lifecourse Development, University of Greenwich, United Kingdom.

The training took place from 14th to 18th June 2026 under the Transforming Education System at State Level (TESS) – BESDA Additional Financing Programme. It is part of the State Government’s capacity-building initiative to strengthen governance and improve service delivery.

Governor Radda described the programme as a strategic investment in human capital development, stressing the importance of continuous training for effective governance.

“This administration remains committed to equipping our officials with the knowledge and skills required to deliver efficient and impactful governance. Sustainable development depends on a well-trained and empowered workforce,” the Governor said.

The delegation included the Accountant General, Malam Nura Tela; Chairman, House Committee on Education, Hon. Mustapha Rabe Musa Mai’adua; and the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Hon Yusuf Sulaiman Jibiya.

Others were the SUBEB Executive Chairman, Dr. Kabir Magaji; Head of PFMU, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Muhammad; Special Adviser on School Feeding, Hajiya Aishah Barda; Executive Secretary, Development Management Board, Mallam Mustapha Shehu; and TESS Project Coordinator, Hajiya Binta Abdulmumin.

The training focused on inclusive leadership, accountability, collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and evidence-based decision-making in public sector management.

Governor Radda further noted that exposure to global best practices remains key to strengthening institutions and accelerating development.

“We will continue to expose our officials to global best practices and innovative leadership models to improve institutional performance and service delivery,” he added.
