    In compliance with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2026 (as amended), the Bauchi State Government hereby advises all political appointees who intend to contest for any elective position in the forthcoming party primary elections to resign their appointments on or before Friday, April 24, 2026, if they have not already done so.

    A statement signed by Mukhtar Gidado Special adviser media and publicity to the Governor said this directive is in line with statutory requirements governing the participation of public office holders in electoral processes and is aimed at ensuring full compliance with the law.

    The government expresses its appreciation to the affected appointees for their service and contributions to the development of Bauchi State, and wishes them success in their future endeavours.

    All such appointees are further directed to hand over all government property in their possession, as well as the responsibilities of their offices, to the appropriate person ( officer ) within their respective Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
