The Chamba Elders Council (CEC) of the Ganye Chiefdom in Adamawa state has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to release the appointment letter of their illustrious son, Abdulrazak Namdas as the Director General of the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA).

Addressing a press conference in Yola on Tuesday the Council (CEC) led by its Vice chairman and former Group Managing Director of Afribank PLC,Kashim Njidda urged President Tinubu to direct the Secretary to the Government of the Federation,SGF. George Akume to release the appointment for Namdas as the new Director General of BCDA.

It could be recalled that, announcement of the appointment was issued by Bayo Onanuga , Special Adviser on Media and Communication to President Bola Tinubu on the 16th July 2026 but the former boss of the Agency, Dakorinama Alabo George has not handed over to Namdas.

“Hon.Namda’s appointment Marks the first time in our history that we have been honoured with such federal office after his previous position as a member of Governing board of Niger Delta Development Commission(NNDC) where he represented North East Zone.

“It is well known that Ganye Chiefdom, the hometown of Hon.Namdas, is an APC-controlled area with strong potential to deliver substantial support for the APC in the 2027 elections.

“Releasing his appointment letter would serve as a significant morale booster for the campaign. In the light of the foregoing,we hereby appeal to His Excell ency , Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri and the National Security Adviser(NSA) Nuhu Ribadu to assist in ensuring that Hon. Namdas receives his appointment letter. It will be mutually beneficial”. Laweso appealed

Namdas is a seasoned journalist who served two terms as a member of the House of representatives where he chaired the committees of media and public affairs and that of Army.He also contested the Governorship of Adamawa state twice but wasn’t successful.
