    COAS CELEBRATES EID-EL-KABIR WITH FRONTLINE TROOPS IN KADUNA

    The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, hosted a special Eid-el-Kabir luncheon on Thursday, 28 May 2026, for troops of Subsector 6, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Giwa, Kaduna State.

    This was contained in a statement signed by Lieutenant Colonel Ajemasu Yake Jingina acting deputy director army public relations,One division Nigerian army issued to newsmen.

    Representing the COAS, the Chief of Administration (Army), Major General IM Abdullahi, noted that Eid-el-Kabir symbolizes faith, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion to duty. He stated that the festival aligns perfectly with the military calling and expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for protecting the nation despite ongoing security challenges.”The Nigerian Army must remain appreciative of the progress recorded over the past months,” Major General Abdullahi said.

    He credited these successes to the dedication, loyalty, and resilience of the personnel.He urged the troops to remain disciplined, professional, and committed to their constitutional roles. He also charged them to uphold the Army’s core values, promote unity, and show compassion across all religious and ethnic lines. Furthermore, he commended sister services and intelligence agencies for their vital collaboration in tackling national insecurity.

    Earlier, the Commander of Subsector 6, Colonel Adamu Muhammad Wase, thanked the COAS for his strategic vision and dedication to troop welfare and combat readiness. He stated that the COAS’ leadership philosophy continues to inspire personnel across all operational theatres to remain mission-oriented.

    Colonel Wase also praised the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 1 Division and Commander Sector 1 Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Major General Abubakar Sadiq Muhammad, for his exceptional operational guidance.

    Highlighting recent achievements, Colonel Wase revealed that sustained kinetic and non-kinetic operations, alongside robust stakeholder engagements, have yielded significant successes.

    Crucially, he announced that there are currently no active bandit or violent extremist camps within the Subsector 6 Area of Operations, attributing this milestone to the courage and sacrifice of the troops.

    He emphasized that the luncheon was more than a social gathering; it serves as a vital platform to boost frontline morale, foster institutional cohesion, and strengthen esprit de corps.

    Delivering the vote of thanks, the Commanding Officer of the 11 Field Engineer Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel Barnabas Gowok, thanked the COAS for prioritizing the welfare of field deployments. He noted that the event offered a rare and highly motivating privilege for frontline troops to interact directly with senior military leadership.The event concluded with the presentation of souvenirs, interaction during refreshments, and a group photograph session.
