The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shuaibu, has reiterated the Nigerian Army’s commitment to continuous training and retraining of its personnel as a strategy for building a professional, disciplined, and combat-ready force.
The Army Chief made this known in a message delivered by the Commander, Infantry Corps, Major General G.M. Mutkut, at the 68th Passing Out Parade of the Nigerian Military School, Zaria.
General Shuaibu described the graduation as the successful completion of six years of rigorous academic and military training, which has equipped the cadets with the knowledge, discipline, leadership qualities, and patriotism required for national service.
He noted that the graduating cadets would contribute significantly to the Federal Government’s drive to expand the Nigerian Army’s force structure, thereby strengthening operational effectiveness in addressing the country’s security challenges.
The Chief of Army staff urged the newly graduated soldiers to remain committed to the values of duty, discipline, integrity, and professionalism, stressing that they must always operate within the provisions of human rights, rules of engagement, and standard operating procedures.
General Shuaibu also cautioned them against the unauthorized use of social media, warning that the disclosure of operational information, military activities, or sensitive locations constitutes a serious breach of military regulations.
He reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s commitment to the welfare and career development of personnel through improved barracks accommodation, better facilities, and sponsorship opportunities for higher education in recognised institutions.
General Shuaibu commended the Commandant, instructors, and staff of the Nigerian Military School for their dedication in grooming the cadets, while appreciating parents and guardians for their support.
He also acknowledged President Bola Tinubu’s continued support for the operational, training, and administrative needs of the Nigerian Army.
