As part of efforts to assist and bring succour to the less privileged, Former Governor of Zamfara State and Senator representing Zamfara West Senatorial District, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar, Marafan Sokoto, has donated 145 trucks of Maize and 42,000 bags of 10kg Semovita to Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, and vulnerable households across Zamfara State.

This was disclosed by the Chairman of the Senator AbdulAziz Yari Abubakar Palliative Distribution Committee, Hon. Lawal M. Liman, PhD, shortly after the committee’s meeting held in Gusau, the Zamfara State Capital on Saturday, 01/08/2026.

According to Dr. Lawal M. Liman, each of the 14 Local Government Areas of the state will receive 10 trucks of Maize and 3,000 bags of Semovita.

He further stated that a total of 210,000 beneficiaries have been targeted to benefit from the palliative across the 147 political Wards in the state.

Dr. Liman noted that, as has always been the gesture of the Distinguished Senator AbdulAziz Yari, the donation is aimed at cushioning the effect of the hardship being experienced by IDPs and vulnerable households, especially considering that it is mid-term season.

He called on the people of Zamfara State to intensify prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Abdul Aziz Yari for God’s guidance in steering the affairs of the country and in the ongoing efforts to address the lingering insecurity affecting Northern states.

The Committee reaffirmed its commitment to ensure transparent, fair, and timely distribution of the items to the intended beneficiaries.
