In continuation of his mega empowerment programme, the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau I. Jibrin, has distributed 47 cars and 282 motorcycles to his constituents in Kano North Senatorial District.

The beneficiaries included chairmen and secretaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 13 local government areas of Kano North Senatorial District, the headmasters’ forum, senior secondary school principals’ forum, and junior secondary school principals’ forum, among others.

The Special Adviser to the Deputy President of the Senate on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, said the mega empowerment was designed to boost mobility, improve outreach, and promote self-reliance among beneficiaries.

The cars and motorcycles were distributed in Kano on Wednesday. Speaking at the event, the Kano State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Agenda, Malam Salihu Sagir Takai, said the intervention was in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

” This initiative is part of Senator Barau’s continued interventions in human and capital development in Kano North and beyond. This is not the first time he has carried out such an intervention, and it will certainly not be the last,” he said.

Senator Barau, represented by his Chief of Staff, Professor Muhammad Ibn Abdallah, said the gesture was aimed at lifting beneficiaries out of poverty and promoting self-reliance.

He urged the beneficiaries not to sell the items but to use them productively to generate income.

The Deputy President of the Senate had lined up a series of interventions under his mega empowerment programmes to boost economic growth in Kano North and Kano State at large.
