Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has received stakeholders from the Daura–Sandamu–Mai’adua Federal Constituency at the Government House, Katsina.

The delegation presented Yusuf Muhammadu Buhari as their preferred candidate for the House of Representatives seat following extensive community consultations.

A statement signed by Ibrahim kaula Mohammad chief press secretary to the Governor said Governor Radda stressed the importance of discipline, structure, and consultation in political participation.

“Political ambition requires patience, structure, and proper consultation. Engage the grassroots, visit wards and local governments, consult political leaders, and follow due process in seeking the mandate of the people,” the Governor said.

He emphasized that meaningful political success depends on direct engagement with communities and continuous contact with constituents.

The Governor noted that political activities must be guided by unity, mutual respect, and adherence to democratic processes.

“This is not merely about contesting elections. It is about engaging our people, strengthening our democratic culture, and ensuring that every aspiration is pursued with responsibility and respect for established processes,” Governor Radda added.

Governor Radda reflected on his two-decade political journey, including his service as Chief of Staff under former Governor Aminu Bello Masari and his appointment by late President Muhammadu Buhari as Director-General of SMEDAN.

“I remain deeply connected to the legacy and family of the late President Muhammadu Buhari. I will never distance myself from the values he stood for,” the Governor said.

He confirmed that Daura, Sandamu, and Mai’adua remain APC strongholds with political history linked to President Buhari’s influence.

The Governor expressed confidence that constituents would continue upholding that legacy and supporting the APC in the Daura zone.

Governor Radda affirmed that Nigeria’s democratic system guarantees every qualified citizen the right to seek elective office.

He clarified that Yusuf Muhammadu Buhari’s aspiration emerged from community-wide consultations, not initiated by him.

“As Governor, I remain committed to fairness, inclusivity, and stability within our political family. I will continue to support any process that strengthens unity and democracy in Katsina State,” he said.

District Head of Dumurkul, Alhaji Musa Haro, commended the Governor’s leadership and developmental achievements across the state.

“Stakeholders from Daura–Sandamu–Mai’adua, after extensive consultations, unanimously resolved to support Yusuf Muhammadu Buhari. This decision reflects the will of our people,” Haro said.

Similarly, Minister of Arts, Culture and Tourism Hon. Hannatu Musa Musawa described the meeting as a demonstration of unity and political maturity.

She noted that Yusuf Buhari represents a bridge between legacy and the future, embodying values of discipline, humility, and service linked to President Buhari.

“Leadership is about continuity and preparing the next generation. Supporting capable individuals ensures stability, growth, and sustained progress,” Minister Musawa said.

Yusuf Muhammadu Buhari thanked stakeholders and the Governor for their support.

“I do not take this responsibility lightly. I am committed to upholding the legacy of service associated with my family and working with our youth to build a better future for our constituency,” he said.

Members of the State House of Assembly, commissioners, local government leaders, and political figures from the Daura zone commended the Governor’s developmental strides and pledged continued support for his administration.

Attendees included Speaker Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura, Secretary to the State Government Barrister Abdullahi Garba Faskari, and other key government officials.
