The Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Institute of Leather and Science Technology (NILEST) Dr. Auwal Mustapha Imam, Fnip, participates in an interactive session organized by the Federal Character Commission (FCC).
The engagement forms part of the Commission’s ongoing efforts to strengthen compliance with the Federal Character Principle and promote transparency, equity, and inclusiveness across Federal Government institutions.
During the session, participants deliberated on key issues relating to the implementation of the Federal Character policy, merit-based recruitment, staff development, and institutional best practices aimed at fostering fairness, accountability, and effective public service delivery.
The dialogue also provided an opportunity for stakeholders to exchange ideas on enhancing compliance with relevant statutory provisions governing appointments and workforce management in federal establishments.
The Director-General was accompanied by the Institute’s Registrar, Mr. Ferdinand Orji Nwachukwu, and the Establishment Secretary, Malam Tanimu Garba.
Their participation underscored NILEST’s commitment to sound administrative practices, good governance, and continuous engagement with relevant government agencies to ensure adherence to extant regulations and public service standards.
