As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security and enhance operational effectiveness across the North-West Geopolitical Zone, the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Department of Finance and Administration, Force Headquarters, and Supervising DIG for the North-West Geopolitical Zone, DIG Sulaiman Muhammad Abdul, PSC, Ph.D, FCNA, FCCSA (USA), ACTI, mni, paid an operational visit to the Zamfara State Police Command to assess the security situation and reinforce policing efforts in the State.
This was contained in a statement signed by the command public relations officer DSP Yazid Abubakar made available to newsmen.
It said during the visit, the DIG received a comprehensive operational briefing from the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmad Muhammad Bello, psc+, mnips, on the Command’s security achievements, ongoing challenges, and operational strategies. He also convened a strategic stakeholders’ security meeting attended by traditional rulers, religious leaders, community representatives, leaders of various unions, and heads of sister security agencies to deliberate on practical measures for enhancing security through collaboration, intelligence sharing, and sustained community partnership.
The DIG further addressed officers and men of the Command, urging them to remain professional, disciplined, and committed to the highest standards of integrity in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities. He also held an interactive session with personnel, during which officers freely asked questions and made recommendations. In response, the DIG provided strategic guidance, reassurance, and words of encouragement aimed at boosting morale and operational efficiency.
As part of his itinerary, the DIG paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, His Excellency Dr Dauda Lawal, where discussions centred on the prevailing security situation and the need to further strengthen collaboration between the Nigeria Police Force and the Zamfara State Government in addressing security challenges across the State.
The operational visit concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by DCP Salisu Bello Fago, who, on behalf of the officers and men of the Command, expressed profound appreciation to the DIG for his exemplary leadership, strategic guidance, and unwavering support toward enhancing policing and security in Zamfara state.
