The District Head of Bojude in Kwami Local Government Area of Gombe State, Alhaji Muhammad Ibrahim, has turbaned the APC Governorship Candidate, Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna, as the Walin Bojude in a historic ceremony.

This was contained in a statement signed by Ibrahim Sani shawai Spokesperson to Dr Jamil Isyaku Gwamna issued to newsmen.

The honour, regarded as one of the highest recognitions of the Bojude traditional institution, reflects the people’s admiration for Dr. Gwamna’s sustained commitment to human development through education, scholarships, mentorship, job creation, and empowerment initiatives.

The title of Walin Bojude is among the most revered positions in the traditional structure with a responsibility as senior counsellor to the District Head on matters of peace, unity, community welfare, and development.

Conferring the title, Alhaji Muhammad Ibrahim said it is reserved for individuals who exemplify integrity, wisdom, and selfless service. He described Dr. Gwamna as an illustrious son whose lifelong dedication has earned him the respect and gratitude of the people.

“The people of Bojude are proud of Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna. His humanitarian service has brought hope to many families and earned him this honour,” he said, adding that the recognition was based purely on merit.

In his acceptance remarks, Dr. Gwamna expressed gratitude to the District Head and the people of Bojude, describing the honour as both humbling and a call to greater service.

“I accept this honour with humility and a deep sense of responsibility. It strengthens my resolve to continue serving our people with sincerity and dedication,” he said.

The ceremony was attended by traditional rulers, community and religious leaders, political stakeholders, youth and women groups, as well as dignitaries from within and outside Gombe State.
