    Gov Idris Mourns Former Deputy Governor Ibrahim K. Aliyu

    Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi state, has expressed profound grief over the passing of the former Deputy Governor of the state, Alhaji Ibrahim K. Aliyu, describing his death as a monumental loss to Kebbi State and the nation.

    Alhaji Ibrahim K. Aliyu passed away on Friday at the age of 82 at his residence in Sokoto following a prolonged illness.

    Late K Aliyu is survived by his wife, many children, and many grandchildren.

    In a condolence message to the bereaved family, Emir of Yauri, people of the Yauri Emirate, Governor Idris described the late elder statesman as a humble, kind, accommodating, and selfless leader whose unwavering commitment to public service earned him the respect and admiration of many.

    The Governor noted that, late Ibrahim K. Aliyu served Kebbi State with diligence, integrity, and uncommon dedication during his tenure as Secretary to the State Government and Deputy Governor, adding that his invaluable contributions to the political and socio-economic development of the state will remain indelible in the annals of its history.

    He recalled that the deceased was a bridge-builder who related with people across ethnic, religious, and political divides with respect, fairness, and compassion, making him a symbol of unity and peaceful coexistence.

    The Governor further stated that, late K Aliyu was widely admired for his wisdom, calm disposition, and unwavering commitment to the peace, unity, and progress of Kebbi State and Nigeria as a whole.

    “Kebbi has lost one of its finest sons. We have lost a father, a mentor, and a reference point in leadership. His life was a shining example of humility, honesty, sacrifice, and service to humanity. His legacy will continue to inspire generations to come,” Governor Idris said.

    The Governor prayed to Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, admit him into Aljannatul Firdaus, and grant his family, friends, and associates the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.

    Governor Idris also assured the family of the deceased of the continued support, prayers, and solidarity of the Kebbi State Government during this difficult period.

    He called on the people of Kebbi State to remember the late statesman in their prayers and emulate his enduring virtues of humility, patriotism, selfless service, and unwavering commitment to the common good.
