As part of the ongoing EXERCISE SHINING STAR 2026, the Nigerian Army Women Command (NAWC) has organised a series of lectures on the roles of sister security agencies in support of military operations for young female personnel.
A statement signed by Major Nsima Essien, Assistant Director Army Public Relations Nigerian Army Women Command Giri, Abuja said the lectures, which were held at the Nigerian Army School of Public Relations and Information (NASPRI) Auditorium, Giri, were organised as part of efforts to enhance the participants’ knowledge and understanding of inter-agency cooperation in military and security operations.
In his remarks, the Commander NAWC, Brigadier General Adamu, highlighted the importance of cooperation and synergy among the Armed Forces and other security agencies in addressing contemporary security challenges. He noted that effective collaboration, information sharing and mutual support among security agencies remain critical to the successful conduct of military operations.
He then urged the young female personnel to take advantage of the lectures by paying close attention to the resource persons and gaining a better understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the various sister agencies in support of military operations.
Earlier, the Commanding Officer, 1 Women Battalion, Lieutenant Colonel BO Evevakpo, gave a brief introduction to EXERCISE SHINING STAR 2026, highlighting the objectives of the exercise and its importance in the development of young female personnel.
The series of lectures commenced with a presentation titled “The Role of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Support of Military Operations,” delivered by Assistant Commandant of the Corps, Imonikhe Oluwakemi.
The second lecture was delivered by Commander of Narcotics, Nweke Angela Oluchi, of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), who spoke on the role of the agency in supporting military operations.
The third lecture was delivered by Assistant Comptroller Rhoda Umunadi Digberen of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), who enlightened the participants on the role of the Service in supporting military operations and contributing to national security.
The Commander NAWC gave a brief summary at the end of each lecture and expressed appreciation to the respective guest speakers for their contributions and for sharing their professional knowledge and experiences with the participants.
The programme concluded with closing remarks by Brigadier General Adamu, followed by a group photograph with the guest speakers and participants.
