The Gombe State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of Rt. Hon. Sadiq Ibrahim Kurba as Chairman of the Gombe State House of Assembly Service Commission.
A statement signed by Aliyu Abubakar Kurba said other members of the Commission confirmed include;
Yakubu A. Bajoga – Full-Time Member
Dahiru Mohammed Kala – Full-Time Member
Maina Laban Binus – Full-Time Member
Usman Umar – Part-Time Member
Nasiru Haruna Dukku – Part-Time Member
Ishaya Karu – Part-Time Member
The confirmation followed the consideration of a letter transmitted to the House by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, Dan Majen Gombe, nominating the appointees and requesting their screening and confirmation.
The session was marked by warmth and excitement as lawmakers reunited with their former presiding officer, Rt. Hon. Sadiq Kurba, creating moments of laughter and nostalgia on the floor of the House.
Speaking during the screening process, the Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo, fondly recalled the exemplary leadership demonstrated by Hon. Sadiq Kurba during his tenure as Speaker. He commended Governor Inuwa Yahaya for what he described as a well-deserved nomination, noting that the appointment was a “round peg in a round hole.”
The Speaker further called on members of the Assembly and staff of the legislative institution to extend their full cooperation and support to the new Chairman in the discharge of his responsibilities.
In his remarks, Rt. Hon. Sadiq Ibrahim Kurba expressed profound gratitude to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, the leader of the APC in Gombe State, for finding him worthy of the appointment. He pledged to justify the confidence reposed in him by serving with diligence, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to strengthening the institution.
Accompanied to the exercise were Yamaltu Deba APC chairman, Alh. Adamu Lambam, Immediate past Chairman Yamaltu Deba, Alh. Abubakar Hassan Difa, Member Local Government Service Commission, Hon Aliyu Hamma Difa, Alh. Yakubu Ibrahim Kurba, and the Village Heads of Kurba and Lubo among others.
