The political momentum around the 2027 governorship aspiration of Dr Jamil Isyaku Gwamna, Sardaunan Gombe, received a significant boost with the successful conclusion of the second Gombe State Stakeholders Engagement Meeting in Abuja.
A statement signed by Ibrahim Sani Shawai Spokesperson to Dr Jamil Isyaku Gwamna said the high-level meeting, which followed the first Abuja stakeholders’ engagement, brought together prominent political leaders, strategists and stakeholders to deepen consultations, strengthen coordination and consolidate the growing support for Dr Gwamna and all APC candidates ahead of the 2027 general election.
Significantly, the meeting was attended by the National Security Adviser (NSA), Malam Nuhu Ribadu, and the pioneer Military Administrator of Gombe State, Group Captain Joseph Orji (rtd.), alongside other critical stakeholders.
The presence and contributions of these distinguished personalities added considerable value to the deliberations, which centred on unity of purpose, effective political strategy, grassroots mobilisation and the need to build a broad and formidable coalition for the success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State.
Malam Ribadu shared valuable strategic perspectives on strengthening the party and securing victory in the forthcoming elections, while Group Captain Orji, who played a historic role in laying the foundations of Gombe State, brought his wealth of experience and perspective to the engagement.
The Facilitator and Co-Convener of the Stakeholders Forum, Dr Aliyu Modibbo Umar, a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), expressed profound appreciation to the National Security Adviser and Group Captain Orji for honouring the meeting and contributing to its successful outcome.
The second Abuja meeting is particularly significant because it demonstrates the steady progression of the ongoing political consultations from engagement to consolidation and strategic mobilisation.
According to Dr Modibbo, what began as consultations is increasingly developing into a broad movement of stakeholders united by a shared determination to strengthen the APC and support the emergence of Dr Jamil Isyaku Gwamna as the next Governor of Gombe State.
“The message from Abuja is clear: the consultations are deepening, the coalition is expanding, the structures are being strengthened, and the necessary groundwork is being laid,” Dr Modibbo added.
