The Zamfara State Police Command has successfully raided a notorious rendezvous point used by members of the outlawed *Yan Sa Kai* group at Gidan Dawa area of Gusau Local Government Area, following weeks of sustained and discreet surveillance conducted by operatives of the State Intelligence Department (SID).

A statement signed by the command public relations officer DSP Yazid Abubakar said the group had been under close watch after being identified as responsible for a string of unlawful activities within Gusau metropolis and its environs, including unlawful assembly, illegal possession of firearms, and the harassment, intimidation and attack of innocent members of the public — acts that had become a source of growing public nuisance and concern.

Acting on credible intelligence, SID operatives, supported by the Command’s tactical teams, stormed the group’s hideout at Gidan Dawa on Monday, 31st August 2026, at about 1730 hours, targeting the ringleader, one Isiya M., alias “Giwa”, and his close associates. On sighting the police operatives, the hoodlums attempted to put up resistance but were swiftly overpowered by the superior strength and determination of the officers. The fleeing suspects abandoned several items at the scene in their haste to escape.

Items recovered and registered as exhibits include six (6) Boxer motorcycles, two (2) locally fabricated firearms, sticks, and two (2) mats.

The Commissioner of Police, Cp A.M Bello psc +, Mnips, Ccnp, assured the good people of Zamfara State of the Command’s continued determination to track down the fleeing suspects and bring them to justice, while reiterating that all illegal activities of the *Yan Sa Kai* group and other criminal elements will not be tolerated.
