The Managing Director of People’s Daily Newspaper, Alhaji Maharazu Ahmad, has described the Governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, as one of the country’s best-performing governors, stating that he has fulfilled about 90 per cent of his campaign promises within three years in office.
Maharazu made the remarks during a courtesy visit by the Kebbi State Governor’s media aides to the headquarters of People’s Daily in Abuja.
He said the management of the media organisation had closely monitored the governor’s performance through various media platforms and was impressed by the achievements recorded under his administration.
“We have been looking forward to this opportunity to express our profound appreciation to the governor for the remarkable achievements he has recorded in Kebbi State within just three years.
“It is evident that the governor has changed the narrative by demonstrating the vision and capacity to initiate and execute impactful projects that directly improve the lives of the people,” he said.
The Managing Director further stated that People’s Daily is willing to partner with the Kebbi State Government by providing wider media coverage of its programmes and achievements.
He noted that Governor Idris had delivered the dividends of democracy through significant investments in infrastructure, agriculture, education, healthcare, and human capital development.
In his remarks, the Kebbi State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed BK, thanked the management of People’s Daily for supporting the state government through objective and professional dissemination of information to the public.
He said Governor Nasir Idris had transformed the state capital and other parts of Kebbi through people-oriented projects, adding that the administration’s achievements over the past three years had made a significant impact on the lives of residents.
“Governor Idris inherited widespread infrastructural decay across virtually all sectors and public institutions in the state. However, as a committed leader, he changed the narrative by embarking on projects that have direct bearing on the welfare and development of the people.
“The governor has made remarkable interventions in road construction, healthcare, education, agriculture, and youth empowerment, among other critical sectors,” he added.
