* Urges Traditional Leaders to Strengthen Cooperation
* Stakeholders Appreciate Radda’s Infrastructure Projects, Say He Is Fulfilling His Promises
Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has assured the people of Sabuwa Local Government Area of equitable development, regardless of its size, while commending their continued cooperation with security agencies in the fight against insecurity.
A statement signed by Ibrahim kaula Mohammad, chief press secretary to the Governor, said Governor Radda gave the assurance when he received a delegation of key stakeholders from Sabuwa, comprising political leaders, business people, traders, youth groups, religious leaders and community representatives, at Government House, Katsina on thursday.
He said his administration remained committed to ensuring that development projects were fairly distributed across the state, stressing that smaller local government areas would not be neglected.
“Sabuwa is a local government like Ours Charanchi, Kusada and other local governments in Katsina. We will not allow its size to determine the level of development it receives,” he said.
The Governor cited the ongoing construction of the Sabuwa-Tashar Bawa road as one of the projects undertaken by his administration to improve connectivity and stimulate development in the area.
Governor Radda also paid tribute to the late District Head of Sabuwa, describing him as a calm, committed and dedicated traditional leader.
He said consultations were held with stakeholders and residents of Sabuwa before the selection of the new District Head, adding that the process took their views and interests into consideration.
The Governor urged the new District Head and other traditional leaders to strengthen cooperation from the district level down to wards and communities to promote peace, unity and development.
He commended Sabuwa residents for supporting security agencies and government initiatives, urging them to sustain the partnership.
Radda also warned against resorting to violence over political or traditional leadership, stressing that no position was worth the loss of human lives.
“Anyone who is happy when people are killed because of leadership will not be given the opportunity to attain that leadership,” he said.
Earlier, Chairman of the Sabuwa stakeholders, Hon. Shafiu, said the delegation represented the major groups and interests in the local government.
He thanked the Governor for approving the turbaning of Engr. Ibrahim Bello Kogo as the new District Head of Kogo, Katsina II, and recalled his support for Sabuwa residents involved in an accident while travelling to attend the last APC convention.
Also speaking, Engr. Tasiu Abubakar appreciated Governor Radda for approving the turbaning of the late District Head’s son, expressing confidence that the new traditional ruler would build on his father’s legacy.
He commended the administration’s interventions in Sabuwa, particularly the ongoing Sabuwa-Tashar Bawa road, renovation of primary schools and reconstruction of dams.
The stakeholders pledged continued support for the administration and cooperation with government and security agencies to promote peace, stability and development in Sabuwa.
In attendance were former Deputy Governor, Hon. Surajo Umar Damari; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir; District Head of Kogo, Katsina II, Engr. Ibrahim Bello Kogo; and other senior governmentofficials and traditional leaders.
