Katsina State Governor, Mal. Dikko Umaru Radda, will this morning commission a series of development projects and empowerment initiatives and launch community support programmes in Matazu Local Government Area.
The programme, scheduled for 10:00 a.m. today at the Matazu Local Government Secretariat, will feature the commissioning of the Matazu Semi-Urban Water Scheme, sponsored by the Katsina State Government.

The Governor will also commission the Haj. Zulaihat Dikko Radda Skills Acquisition Centre, sponsored by Dujiman Katsina, Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Ahmed, as well as the Hisbah LGA Division Office and two motorcycles, provided by the Matazu Local Government Council.
Also to be commissioned are two brand-new mass transit vehicles, provided by the Matazu Local Government Council to support revenue generation and public transportation within the local government.
The programme will also feature the groundbreaking ceremony for a Maternity and Children’s Hospital in Matazu, sponsored by Dujiman Katsina, Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Ahmed, Member representing Musawa/Matazu Federal Constituency.

Under the empowerment component, the Matazu Local Government Council will provide cash support to 500 women, 250 youths and 250 elders, while Dujiman Katsina will provide ₦3 million to youth groups.
In addition, 100 motorcycles will be distributed to Imams, youths and social media activists, under an initiative sponsored by Dujiman Katsina.
The Matazu Local Government Council will also distribute 30 smartphones to social media activists as part of the programme.

Meanwhile, the Gwagware Foundation, on behalf of the First Lady of Katsina State, Haj. Zulaihat Dikko Radda, will provide cash support to caregivers of orphans and less-privileged persons.
The programme is expected to bring together government officials, community leaders, traditional and religious leaders, youths, women and other stakeholders from Matazu, Musawa and neighbouring communities.
