Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has said former Deputy Governor Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo has failed to offer meaningful ideas for the state’s progress.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Wednesday, Yusuf spoke at the Government House while presenting the Certificate of Return to the newly elected member for Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency, Shu’aibu Rabi’u Nagogo.
The governor said it was unfortunate that a politician of Gwarzo’s experience had resorted to what he described as baseless criticism instead of making constructive contributions on issues affecting the people.
“Leadership requires vision, commitment and the ability to provide solutions, not endless attacks aimed at gaining political attention,” Yusuf said.
He maintained that his administration remained focused on delivering development projects and improving living conditions in Kano State. While noting that criticism was part of democracy, he said it should be constructive and aimed at advancing the public good.
Yusuf also defended the political separation between himself and Gwarzo, saying the former deputy had repeatedly shown disrespect to those who supported his political rise.
He assured residents that his administration would not be distracted by political attacks and would continue to focus on fulfilling its campaign promises and delivering good governance.
