The Executive Governor of Kano State Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has quickly intervened on the dispute between Honourable Kabiru Alhassan Rurum and Senator Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila, they have resolved to forgive each other and work together.
Alhaji Kabiru Alhassan Rurum House member representing Rano/Bunkure/Kibiya, said the dispute has been settled and they have now reunited as one family and work together more than ever before. He thanked the governor for his efforts bringing lasting peace between them.
This was contained in a press release issued by Mustapha Muhammad, the Chief Press Secretary to the Kano state Governor, Sunday.
Senator Kawu Sumaila representing Kano South at the Senate said the dispute was the handiwork of Satan and they have now forgiven each other and forgot the differences.
“We are one family, and what united us is more than politics we have family ties and other relationships beyond imagination, what happened was misunderstanding and we have resolved the differences and it is indeed the devil’s work.” Senator Kawu Sumail has said.
The kano State APC Party Chaiman, Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa on his part called on the supporters to forget the past and forge ahead towards seeking victory for the APC from the top to the bottom.
“I would like to thank the Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf for his foresight on quick intervention, this shows that he is really a leader,” Doguwa has stated.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has summoned the meeting to resolve the differences between the two giant political gladiators in the southern part of the State. The meeting has in attendance: the Deputy Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, APC Ex officio, Alhaji Muhammad Jamu, Kano State APC Chairman, Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa, Senator Kawu Sumaila and Honourable Kabiru Alhassan Rurum.
On the final note, Alhassan Rurum and Senator Kawu Sumaila all invited their supporters to come to the affirmation of Alhaji Abdurrahman Kawu Sumaila as the Senatorial candidate of the South on Monday 18th May 2026.
