    NIGERIAN ARMY HOSTS COCKTAIL PARTY TO MARK SUCCESSFUL CONCLUSION OF CAPTAIN TO MAJOR WRITTEN PROMOTION EXAMINATION 2026

    The Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport came alive on 15 May 2026 as officers gathered for a cocktail party marking the successful conclusion of the Captain to Major Written Promotion Examination 2026. Held at the Muhammadu Buhari Auditorium, the event brought together senior; officers serving and retired, Directing Staff, candidates, and distinguished guests.

    This is contained in a statement signed by Felicia Daniel acting assistant director army public relations, training and doctrine command Nigerian army issued to newsmen.

    In his welcome address, the Examination President and Commander, Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA), Major General Peter Malla, commended the candidates for their resilience and discipline throughout the rigorous process. He noted that the examination tested not only academic competence but also professional bearing and endurance. Accordingly, he stated that, “The cocktail party is not merely a social engagement; it is a moment for reflection and shared accomplishment,” and urged, the officers to remain committed to continuous learning and professionalism.

    The Special Guest of Honour for the event, Major General Kelvin Aligbe (Rtd), former Commander TRADOC NA, drew from his experience overseeing 10 promotion examinations. He congratulated the candidates and reminded them that progression to higher command demands diligence, loyalty, and sacrifice. In his words, “Good character, coupled with sound professional knowledge, is the antidote to a frustrating career,” while encouraging officers to uphold patriotism and humanity in their service.

    Major General Malla acknowledged the support of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, whose leadership and timely release of resources ensured the smooth conduct of the examination. Appreciation was also extended to the Commander, Nigerian Army Corps of Supply and Transport, Major General Nansak Shagaya; Chief of Training (Army), Major General Victor Okoro; the General Officer Commanding 2 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Chinedu Nebeife; and the Commandant, Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport, Major General Adebayo Adegbite, for their roles in maintaining operational standards and hosting the event.

    The event ended on a high note with officers and guests interacting in a relaxed atmosphere, fostering camaraderie and professional bonding while celebrating the successful completion of the examination process.
