A statement signed by Ibrahim kaula Mohammed Chief Press Secretary to the Governor said the meeting was held on Tuesday at the Muhammadu Buhari House, Katsina.
Speaking during the engagement, Governor Radda expressed appreciation to the scholars for their visit, describing their decision to engage with his administration as an important demonstration of their interest in the development and future of Katsina State.
Governor Radda said scholars and academics occupy an influential position in society because of their knowledge, experience and close relationship with communities, noting that their contributions could help promote informed public discourse and strengthen understanding of government policies and development programmes.
“We appreciate this engagement because scholars have an important responsibility in society. Beyond their academic work, they have the capacity to influence communities, provide informed perspectives and contribute to the development of our state,” Governor Radda said.
The Governor said his administration remained open to constructive engagement with academics, professionals and other stakeholders, stressing that governance required the collective contribution of people with knowledge and experience across different sectors.
He assured the delegation that his administration would continue to provide opportunities for meaningful engagement with the academic community, particularly on issues relating to education, human capital development, research, innovation and the broader socio-economic development of Katsina State.
Governor Radda also welcomed the commitment expressed by the association to support his political aspirations, while urging its members to sustain peaceful and responsible engagement with citizens and communities.

He said the experience and grassroots connections of teachers and scholars could be valuable in communicating development priorities and fostering greater understanding between the government and the people.
“We value your support and your willingness to work with us. What is important is that we continue to engage our people responsibly, communicate with them and work together for the progress of Katsina State,” he said.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation and convener of Scholars for Dikko 2027, Alhaji Bature Umar Masari, said the group visited the Governor to demonstrate its goodwill and reaffirm its support for his 2027 political aspirations.
Masari highlighted the influence of scholars within society, noting that academics, teachers and other professionals have an important role to play in shaping public opinion and promoting responsible leadership.
He particularly emphasised the strategic position of teachers, saying their regular interaction with students, families and communities places them among professionals with strong grassroots connections.
“Scholars have a significant role to play in society, particularly as we approach 2027. Teachers are closest to the grassroots because they interact directly with our people every day,” Masari said.
He said the association would continue to mobilise its members around issues of development, responsible citizenship and the future of Katsina State, while supporting Governor Radda’s political engagement ahead of the 2027 elections.
Masari also commended the Governor for maintaining an open channel of engagement with scholars and professionals and expressed the association’s readiness to contribute its knowledge, experience and networks to the development of the state.
The engagement brought together senior academics, including professors and doctors, as well as political stakeholders and youths, reflecting the broad composition of the scholars’ platform.
Also in attendance were the Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura; Katsina State APC Chairman, Dr Bishir Gambo Saulawa; PPS to the Governor, Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji; and other senior political and community stakeholders.
