Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has pledged his administration’s continued support for programmes that empower women and youths in the state.
Governor Radda stated this on Friday while receiving members of the Amana Sai Dan Amana Political Movement on a courtesy visit at the Muhammadu Buhari Government House, Katsina.
The Governor commended the movement for mobilizing support for the All Progressives Congress, APC, during elections and for initiating programmes that equip youths with skills to become self-reliant and employers of labour.
He described the group as one of the key organizations supporting his administration, noting its important role in voter mobilization, public sensitization and ensuring peaceful elections across the state’s over 6,000 polling units ahead of the next general elections.
According to him, members of the APC have every reason to campaign with confidence because his administration has fulfilled the promises made to the people.
To strengthen the organization, Governor Radda announced the donation of an official vehicle to the movement. He also disclosed that a member of the North West Development Commission, Alhaji Shamsu Funtua, donated 20 sewing machines to support the group’s empowerment initiatives.
The Governor further assured that his administration would continue to prioritize programmes that benefit women, in recognition of their contributions to the electoral success of the government.
In her remarks, the Founder of Amana Sai Dan Amana Political Movement, Hajiya Hauwa Sambo, said the organization is focused on mobilizing citizens for peaceful participation in governance and supporting the development agenda of Governor Radda.
She said the movement has empowered 100 vulnerable women through skills acquisition programmes and has carried out voter sensitization and political education across communities.
Hajiya Sambo added that the NGO plans to train 1,000 youths and women in Katsina Local Government Area in vocational skills, in line with the Governor’s youth empowerment agenda.
She also noted that the group has been defending the administration against misinformation on social media and radio platforms.
Other speakers at the event, including Rukayya Nuhu, Ahmed Armayau, Youth Leader Nura Muhammad, and Women Leader Zainab Sani, praised the Governor’s people-oriented policies and pledged continued support for government programmes.
Dignitaries present at the visit included the Chief of Staff, Government House, Alhaji Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir; Commissioner for Works and Housing; Permanent Secretary, Government House; Special Adviser on Logistics; and a member of the North West Development Commission, among other government officials and stakeholders.
