Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has congratulated Mrs. Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, on her historic election as the first elected and second female President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA).
This was contained in a statement issued by the Governor’s Spokesman, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, on Tuesday.
Governor Yusuf said Mrs. Badejo-Okusanya’s emergence reflects her outstanding record of integrity, professionalism and commitment to the rule of law, qualities that earned her the confidence of members of the Bar across the country.
The Governor noted that her election also underscores the growing recognition of the vital role women continue to play in nation-building and the administration of justice.
He expressed confidence that the new NBA President would provide purposeful leadership, strengthen the legal profession, uphold the rule of law and champion reforms that will improve access to justice for all Nigerians.
Governor Yusuf urged Mrs. Badejo-Okusanya to work closely with members of the Association and other critical stakeholders to advance judicial reforms, promote unity within the Bar and safeguard the sanctity of the Constitution.
He also encouraged her to foster reconciliation among all contestants and members of the Association in the interest of a stronger and more united Nigerian Bar Association.
Governor Yusuf wished the newly elected NBA President a successful and impactful tenure, assuring her of the Kano State Government’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote justice, democratic governance and the rule of law.
The Governor also congratulates Barr. Khadja Nasir Ahmed for emerging as Assistant National Publicity Secretary of the NBA from Kano.
