The Yari 4 Tinubu-Shettima 2027 Project has appointed Dr Hafiz Ibrahim Ahmed, PhD, CertIOSH, AMRSC, as its State Coordinator for Katsina State.
The appointment was announced in a statement on Friday by the National Coordinator of the group, Dr Francis Chidozie Okoye, who said the decision was part of efforts to strengthen the group’s grassroots structure in the North-West ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Okoye said, “Dr Ahmed’s appointment is strategic. He represents the new generation of leaders we need — youthful, educated, professionally credible and deeply connected to the grassroots. We are confident he will mobilise Katsina State effectively for the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima in 2027.”
Dr Hafiz Ahmed is a technocrat, energy strategist and public servant from Katsina State with extensive experience spanning academia, the private sector and government.
He holds a PhD from the University of Huddersfield, United Kingdom, and has held senior leadership positions in Nigeria’s energy industry, including managing the largest Off-Grid Power Plant in Nigeria — the Port Harcourt Refinery Power Plant.
He currently serves as Special Adviser to the Executive Governor of Katsina State on Power and Energy, where he is driving the state’s energy transformation agenda across renewable energy, solar and battery storage, wind, hydropower, gas and clean mobility.
Beyond his technical competence, Dr Hafiz is widely respected for his strong youth engagement, community outreach and grassroots accessibility.
