The Executive Chairman of Zaria Local Government, Engr.Jamil Ahmad Muhammad (Jaga), on Thursday participated in the September 2026 meeting of the Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) held at the Senator Uba Sani Conference Hall, Ministry of Local Government Affairs, Kaduna State.
A statement signed by Abdullahi Abubakar lawal SA New Media to the chairman said the meeting commenced with the Technical Session, chaired by the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Hon Sadiq Mamman Lagos, where key issues concerning local government administration, financial coordination, resource management and grassroots service delivery were considered.
It said the Plenary Session was subsequently chaired by the Chairman of the Joint Account Allocation Committee and Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Her Excellency Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe.
According to the statement,the meeting brought together the Chairmen of the 23 Local Government Councils in Kaduna State alongside senior government officials, ministry directors and representatives of relevant agencies.
Among those in attendance were the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government Affairs, Dr. Mahmud Lawal; Special Adviser on Local Government, Hon. Kabiru Yakubu Jarimi; Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Local Government, Hon. Usman Lado Dan Daura; Technical Assistant to the Governor, Hajiya Zarah Askira; the Deputy Director of Finance and Budget; and other officials.
Representatives of SUBEB, RUWASSA, the Office of the Accountant General, Kaduna State Primary Health Care Board (PHCB), Bureau for Pensions, Local Government Service Board, and other relevant institutions also participated in the meeting.
Discussions focused on strengthening fiscal coordination, transparency and accountability, prudent resource allocation, institutional efficiency and effective service delivery across the state’s 23 Local Government Areas.
The September JAAC meeting further provided an important platform for the state and local governments to strengthen collaboration and ensure that available resources are effectively managed towards sustainable and people-centred development at the grassroots.
