    Just In: Governor Inuwa Yahaya Appoints Overseers for LGAs and Newly Created LCDAs

    Following the expiration of the tenure of 11 Local Government Executive Council Chairmen, the Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, has approved the appointment of senior personnel to oversee the affairs of the LGAs) across the state.

    This was contained in a statement signed by the DG Press affairs Gombe State government house issued to newsmen.

    It said that the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, who conveyed the governor’s approval, also announced the appointment of officials to manage the affairs of the 13 newly created Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).

    According to the SSG, all appointees were drawn from among serving secretaries and individuals within their respective LGAs.

    This action is aimed at sustaining governance structures and ensuring continuity in service delivery at the local level.

    Akko LGA – Abdulkadir Abubakar

    Akko West LCDA – Lamaran Ahmed

    Akko North LCDA – Mohammed Ajiya

    Balanga LGA – Adamu Ado

    Balanga South LCDA – Sarah Danjuma

    Billiri LGA – Augustine Kurugu

    Billiri West LCDA – Gladys Garba

    Dukku LGA – Adamu Julderu

    Dukku North LCDA – Ahmed Usman

    Funakaye LGA – Saidu Abubakar

    Funakaye South LCDA – Bappayo Yaya

    Gombe LGA – Aliyu Mohammed Dawaki

    Gombe South LCDA – Aishatu Mohammed Sadiq

    Kaltungo LGA – Labte Aaron Andrew

    Kaltungo East LCDA – Ibrahim Gambo

    Kwami LGA – Bilkisu Mohammed Magaji

    Kwami West LCDA – Muhammad Kabir Abdullahi

    Nafada LGA – Abubakar Yuguda

    Nafada South LCDA – Muhammad Kabir

    Shongom LGA – James Emmanuel Dogo

    Pero/Chonge LCDA – Saidu Manzo Filiya

    Yamaltu/Deba LGA – Ibrahim Aliyu

    Yamaltu/Deba East LCDA – Haruna Shehu

    Yamaltu/Deba West LCDA – Dauda Umar

    The statement said the appointments take effect from April 24, 2026.

    Governor Inuwa Yahaya expects the new LGAs/ LCDAs overseers to ensure administrative continuity and stability in the state’s local government system during the interim period.
