It said the Chairman and his delegation were received by the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, SFIPMA, MNIM, MNIPS, MASIS.

Speaking during the visit, Barr. Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado, Esq said the visit was to introduce the leadership of the Taskforce, brief the Command on its mandate and 2026 operational plan, and seek collaboration in strengthening inter-agency efforts against drug abuse and illicit trafficking in Kano State.

He commended the Command for its proactive and intelligence-driven approach to crime fighting. He further assured that the Taskforce is committed to supporting police operations through advocacy, community engagement, public enlightenment, and credible intelligence gathering to dismantle drug networks across the state.

In his response, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD welcomed the Chairman and reaffirmed the Command’s unwavering readiness to partner with the Taskforce in the crackdown on thuggery, drug trafficking and related crimes.

He pledged the Command’s full support through joint operations, real-time intelligence sharing, technical guidance, and deployment of tactical resources to ensure Kano is rid of drug peddlers, traffickers and thugs.

The Command will partner the Taskforce to rid the State of drug abuse, which has been identified as the major cause of thuggery (Fadan Daba), especially within the State Metropolis.

The Commissioner further urged parents, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and community stakeholders to join hands with security agencies by providing timely information and supporting preventive measures to rid Kano of illicit drugs and save our youths.
