The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced a reduction in the Hajj deposit for intending pilgrims from the state and reaffirmed 25 August 2026 as the deadline for the closure of registration.
A statement signed by the board public relations officer Sulaiman Dederi said the Director-General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, made this known today during a press briefing held at the Board’s Conference Hall.
According to the Director-General, the Hajj deposit has been reduced to ₦7,000,000 (Seven Million Naira) only per pilgrim.
Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle further emphasised that the Board will maintain 25 August 2026 as the final deadline for registration. He therefore urged all intending pilgrims who are yet to submit their international passports to do so before the expiration of the deadline.
He called on all intending pilgrims and other stakeholders to take note of the announcement and ensure compliance with the stipulated deadline to avoid any inconvenience.
