Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has won the Human Capital Empowerment Governor of the Year award at the 25th Independent Newspaper Awards ceremony held at Eko Hotel, Lagos.

A statement signed by Ibrahim kaula Mohammad, chief press secretary to the Governor, said the Governor clinched the award through votes, defeating nominees from Delta, Kwara, Lagos, and Akwa Ibom states in the highly competitive category.

Accepting the award, Governor Radda emphasized that human capital empowerment is central to his administration’s agenda.

“We need to empower our people. We need to support human capital development and create job opportunities for our teeming youth. That is the only way we can reduce insecurity and fight poverty,” Governor Radda said.

He further noted that human empowerment directly contributes to economic prosperity.

“This is the way we can move our people in a better economic direction,” the Governor said.

Governor Radda expressed deep gratitude to the people of Katsina for the mandate and to all who supported his administration.

“We thank the people of Katsina for giving us this mandate. We thank everyone for supporting us. We thank the Independent Newspaper for this recognition,” the Governor said.

He noted that the award serves as encouragement for his administration to work harder.

“This award will motivate us to do what is right for the betterment of our people,” Governor Radda said.

The Governor highlighted that his administration has achieved over 90 percent of its strategic objectives across key sectors.

“In Katsina State, we are doing well. We are focused and strategic. Looking at our manifestos and strategic policies dubbed ‘Building Your Future’ we have achieved over 90 percent in education, agriculture, infrastructure, human capital development, public administration and reform, MSME development, and many other areas,” Governor Radda said.

He emphasized that as a first-time governor, achieving such national recognition is significant.

“As first-time governors, we are able to win such awards. This motivates us to continue working hard and doing what is right,” the Governor concluded.

The Katsina State Government delegation who graced the event included Speaker Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura, Secretary to the State Government Barr.
