The Kebbi State Police Command has confirmed and deployed tactical personnel to Tsamiya Town after an attack by suspected terrorists in the late hours of Saturday.
In a statement by the Command’s Public Relations SP Bashir Usman said, the assailants invaded the area, fired sporadically, and set ablaze a makeshift checkpoint belonging to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
The statement said other places attacked are local brothel, residence of one Sule Mai Goge and one Alhaji Yusuf Bazamfare was also kidnapped during the incident.
It’s said, upon receipt of the report, the Commissioner of Police immediately directed the deployment of additional security forces to secure lives and property in the area.
A comprehensive investigation into the incident has since commenced, and effort to rescue the kidnapped victim and track the perpetrators is ongoing.
The Command assures residents of Tsamiya and environs that security operations will continue until normalcy is fully restored.
