    Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has laid the foundation for the Gombe South Local Government Development Area (LCDA) in Bolari, marking a major step in his administration’s push to deepen grassroots governance and accelerate development across the state.

    A statement signed by Ismaila Uba misilli the DG Press affairs Gombe State government house said the ceremony, witnessed by a large crowd of supporters and community leaders, signals the formal takeoff of a new administrative structure designed to bring government closer to the people.

    Speaking at the event, Governor Inuwa Yahaya explained that the LCDAs were established through legislative backing to enhance efficiency in local administration and expand access to governance at the community level.

    He expressed optimism that ongoing national efforts to create additional States and LGAs would eventually receive presidential assent, noting that the LCDAs are structured to function with full administrative capacity in the interim.

    Drawing a parallel with reforms pioneered by Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his tenure as governor of Lagos State, Governor Inuwa Yahaya described the initiative as a necessary and strategic step toward inclusive governance and sustainable development.

    The governor used the occasion to call for unity among members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), urging party stakeholders to work collectively to sustain electoral success and support the development agenda at both state and national levels.

    Earlier, the Director-General of the Gombe State Joint Project Development Agency, Dr. Mahmood Yusuf, assured that the LCDA secretariat in Bolari is being executed with approved specifications and would be delivered within the agreed timeline.

    In his welcome address, Chairman of Gombe Local Government Council, Barrister Sani Ahmad Haruna, commended the governor for what his people-centred policies that continue to transform aspirations into tangible projects.

    He assured of continued loyalty and support of the people.

    He stated that history would be kind to Governor Inuwa Yahaya for the transformative impact of his administration, particularly at the grassroots level, as well as for his deliberate effort in identifying and nurturing a new generation of disciplined and capable leaders.

    Also speaking, the Senior District Head of Gombe, Alhaji Bappah Mohammed, on behalf of the traditional council, said the creation of the LCDA sits at the heart of effective governance, noting that it will strengthen administrative reach and improve service delivery at the grassroots.
