The Nigerian Army has continued to strengthen its training infrastructure as part of ongoing efforts to enhance the combat effectiveness and operational readiness of its personnel in support of national security objectives

A statement signed by Colonel Appolonia Anele Acting Director, army public relations said in furtherance of this commitment, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, on Tuesday, 30 June 2026, commissioned newly constructed training facilities at the 3 Division Training School and Shooting Range, Miango, Plateau State.

Speaking during the commissioning of newly constructed hostel blocks at the training school, the COAS stated that the facilities would significantly improve the quality of training for both officers and soldiers by providing a conducive environment for learning and professional development. He reaffirmed that training remains the bedrock of the Nigerian Army’s operational effectiveness and emphasised that creating an enabling learning atmosphere is essential to producing highly skilled, disciplined, and mission-ready personnel capable of addressing contemporary security challenges.

Lieutenant General Shaibu reiterated his Command Philosophy, anchored on the Soldier First Concept, noting that investing in the welfare and professional development of personnel remains fundamental to building a motivated and combat-ready force.

He commended the General Officer Commanding 3 Division/Commander Operation ENDURING PEACE, Major General Folusho Oyinlola for the initiative and prudent management of resources, describing the project as a demonstration of commitment to enhancing the Nigerian Army’s capacity to effectively discharge its constitutional responsibilities in safeguarding Nigeria’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security.
