Delegates of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) have toured key projects executed by the Kaduna State Government, describing them as legacy interventions driving access to healthcare, skills and infrastructure. The media tour was held on the sidelines of Nigeria Public Relations Week 2026, tagged _Croc City 2026 _, in Kaduna.
The NIPR team visited the Primary Health Care Centre in Badarawa and the upgraded General Hospital in Kawo.
Speaking during the tour, Commissioner of Health, Hajiya Umma K. Ahmed, said the Uba Sani administration’s transformation of the sector began with the renovation and equipping of 255 Primary Health Care facilities, one in each ward across the state.
“In addition, 13 General Hospitals have been upgraded and commissioned to boost the health sector,” Hajiya Umma stated.
She added that 1,800 health personnel have been recruited to adequately staff the facilities and improve service delivery.
The team also inspected the Vocational Institute at Rigachikun, one of three equipped by the state across the three Senatorial zones.
The centres are fitted with state-of-the-art facilities to tackle unemployment and youth restiveness. According to state officials, the three vocational institutes will graduate 32,000 skilled youths annually across various trades.
On infrastructure, the delegates toured the 36-kilometre Gadan Gayam to Kujama road, which connects 56 agrarian communities across Igabi, Chikun and Kajuru LGAs.
Director General of the Kaduna State Roads Agency (KADRA), Dr Abdullahi Baba Ahmed, said the project is part of a wider rural roads transformation.
“The rural roads transformation of Governor Uba Sani has delivered 1,368 kilometres of roads across the 23 local government areas of the state. The goal is to boost economic activities, school enrolment and movement of goods and services,” Dr Baba Ahmed, added.
The tour covered legacy projects in transport and recreation. Commissioner of Information, Ahmed Maiyaki, disclosed that the state has deployed CNG buses to convey civil servants, students and vulnerable residents free of charge. The free bus service has so far saved 40% of Civil Servants salaries.
He added that Governor Uba Sani has commenced construction of modern transportation hubs at Sabon Tasha for the southern corridor and Kawo for the northern corridor to ease intra-city mobility.
Leader of the NIPR tour team, Yomi Ogunsanya, commended Governor Uba Sani for what he called legacy projects and for enhancing security through the Command and Control Centre fitted with modern monitoring cameras and communication systems across four LGAs in the metropolis.
Ogunsanya urged the government to complete the expansion of schools surveillance cameras under the Federal Government’s Safe Schools Initiative.
The project tour formed part of activities for Nigeria Public Relations Week 2026, _Croc City 2026_, hosted in Kaduna. The week convenes PR practitioners nationwide to assess governance, communication and development linkages.
